LED Lighting NZ – Your Top Questions Answered
Share
Looking to upgrade your home or office lighting but unsure where to start? You’re not alone! At GreenLED, we’ve answered thousands of customer questions about LED lighting in New Zealand. Here are the most common ones – and our expert answers.
❓ What is the best LED downlight for NZ homes?
The best LED downlight depends on where you’re installing it. If you want a warm, comfortable light for living areas, we recommend 3000K dimmable LED downlights. For kitchens or bathrooms, brighter options (like 4000K) might be better.
❓ Can I replace fluorescent tubes with LED tubes?
Yes, our LED tube lights NZ are designed to be a direct replacement for fluorescent tubes. They’re compatible with most existing fittings (single-ended), which means no rewiring is needed. Easy to install and eco-friendly!
❓ Are LED light bulbs really more energy-efficient?
Absolutely. LED light bulbs consume far less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen bulbs. Our 11W bulbs produce up to 1020 lumens – bright, efficient, and long-lasting.
❓ What’s the difference between E14 and E27 LED bulbs?
It’s all about the base size.
- E14 = smaller screw base (common in lamps and chandeliers)
- E27 = standard screw base (used in most NZ homes)
❓ Can I use a dimmer switch with all LED lights?
Not always. Make sure you choose dimmable LED lights if you plan to use a dimmer switch. Also, be sure your dimmer is compatible with LEDs – older dimmers may need to be upgraded.
❓ Why are SAA certified LED products important?
SAA certification means a product complies with New Zealand and Australian safety standards. All GreenLED products are SAA certified for peace of mind and long-term safety.
❓ Why should I buy from GreenLED instead of big-box stores?
Simple: better quality at lower prices. We sell the same (or better) LED products as the big stores, but without the markup. Plus, we’re local – based right here in New Zealand.
